    MXL R77 Classic Ribbon Microphone

    A high-quality ribbon microphone for studio and broadcast use, the R77 from MXL is available. The mic has a figure-8 pickup pattern on its 1.8 micron aluminum ribbon, which enables it to record sound coming from either side of the mic body. The mic's high SPL capability and internal Mogami wire deliver a world-class audio experience, making it perfect for use as a voice or instrumental mic. A wooden case, desktop stand, cleaning cloth, and 25' Mogami XLR cable are all included with the microphone.

    Great for Brass Recording

    Especially for the price you pay, this is an awesome mic. I've been using it to record my trombone and it really captures a smooth, compact, and natural sound. I highly recommend getting a good ribbon mic preamp because the output will likely be too soft.

    I purchased the R77 for my brother as a gift. It works amazing both on vocals and on his saxophone. It adds warmth, depth, and some dimension to the sound. All in all a great mic and going to add another to my collection as soon as possible!
